Arcadia  Christendom  Beyond

The Angelic Academy of Arcadia:

The premiere (and now, only) educational facility of the Angelic Order of Saint Michael. Here, the greatest warriors and future heroes of the True Church are trained from birth. Situated on an island in the middle of a crater lake, the campus stretches over quite a few square kilometers. It is supported by the City of Arcadia, one of the technological, scientific, and developmental pinnacles of Christendom.

Saint Michael’s Basilica:

The crown jewel of Arcadia. The Bascilica itself is a massive church / auditorium / ceremonial ground with an open square in front, modeled after Saint Peter’s in Rome. Both are used for major school ceremonies and holiday events, and the rear of the Basilica itself projects out over the water, with massive glass windows, beyond the main church, where events like The Dance of the Pairs and all-Group dinners are held - this part goes somewhat beyond what’s seen in the map, and is in a rounded shape. Additional rooms also accommodate presentations of art, musical, and theater productions. Arcadia’s administrative staff work in here as well - with roughly 100 people dedicated to the Basilica.

The Student Dormitories:

The student quarters of Arcadia are split, appropriately, into buildings for the Pairs, the Baptized and Confirmed (split along gender lines), and the pre-baptized.

The Baptized and Confirmed live in four-story tall barracks, joined by a sky-bridge on the top floor, administered by the Sisters of Mercy. The Baptized sleep in a communal setting, while the Confirmed are given roommates based on their burgeoning friendships with each other.

The Pairs live in apartment blocks, each building devoted to one year of the Paired students. Each apartment contains bedrooms for each member of the Pair and their Guardian, a bathroom, a kitchen, a living room, and a balcony. As such, each apartment exists on a slight slope backwards, with lower floors having administrative functions contained within to take up the additional space, such as laundry services.

The Dining Commons:

Four dining commons are currently active on the Arcadia grounds: Copernicus Hall, used by teachers and other educational staff; Galliliei Hall, used by general staff; Sagan Hall, used by the Pairs and their Guardians; and Linnaeus and Franklin Halls, used by the Baptized and Confirmed, along with the Sisters of Mercy who attend to them. A fifth dining hall has been constructed: Watson Hall, in the Empty Quarter, but like the other buildings there, it is yet to be used.

The Magical Training Grounds:

Large facilities exist throughout Arcadia that are outfitted with the massive array of elements, sensations, and challenges required to properly train a nascent Angel in the art of magic. While the surface is usually used, they extend deep beneath the earth. The precise properties of the training grounds are often altered by the Angels administrating magic training, and so, their precise layout is unimportant compared to the depth and breadth of materials available.
